^^^Day 3.
This post will be out of order and random. I feel like making it that way.
So at some point in the morning, all of the girls were sent out to sign our first year flag! Every other year-Camp Esther occurs every two years- we'll just add more names onto the flag. So exciting!
^^^This is the lot. From bottom left to bottom right...taking this a row at a time: Angie Meyers, Mellissa, Hailey Kenyon, Shelby Saxton, Kaylie Madison, Sara, Jamie Diewald, Skyler Cain, Ashley Sigmon, Rebekah Dunn, Me, Celeste Thompson, Kirsten Hopwood, Hannah May.e, Alex Martin, Rachel Tanner, Makayla Harmsen, Alexis Hilton, Paige Eldridge, Gynisie, Elie Holmgren, Cheryl Jacobs, Stephanie Connolly, Jessica Hatch, Kristy Russin.
^^^This is from one of our group discussions. I am not so positive from which day it is, however these discussion happened frequently every night. We were told of our Divine Nature, and reminded to uphold our Virtue. It was a time where we each spoke our heart and got to know each other better.
^^^At night we had a very special activity. I only captured a few shots of this, because the whole thing was so exciting, I forgot to get my camera! Crazy right?
Basically what happened was each girl was blind folded. We were taken outside, and told to hold on to the rope and never let go. In my case, immediately two voices confronted me. Both were soft and gentle, but I had to choose for myself which voice I needed to follow. One told me to hold tight to the rope and where I needed to go to be safe. The other voice told me I needed to let go to be safe. Of course I listened to the first! Along the way, there were various tempers calling to me to come do something fun and less difficult. This was a difficult activity! We had to climb on top of picnic tables and piles of rocks. We had to crawl underneath a tree and veer around a car. It would've been so simple to give up, but I pursued, as well as every other girl. At the end, when we had made it individually, we were before a tree all lit up in brilliance. It even had little chocolates on it. To greet us was a man who talked to us individually about overcoming temptations and trials, following the Holy Ghost, and making it to reside with our Father in Heaven for all eternity. I loved it all! Truly inspiring.
^^^This was the chocolate we got from the trees.
^^^Earlier in the day, we got ready to go river rafting!! Unfortunately, I was wet and having way too much fun to capture the memories. I will have you know that of you've never been rafting, GO, it sure is an experience. I wouldn't mind going on one of those two day trips where you raft with all of your belongings and just camp out.
^^^Me, Rebekah, Kirstine
^^^Again....Rebekah is just EPIC.
On the way home we told secrets and slept. Overall, the experience at Camp Esther was amazing! I believe the first year went pretty well! Better than well.
I won't share anymore personal feelings, but just know that I wouldn't have chosen anywhere else to be last week. I was where I needed to be. So many feelings surrounding this event and not enough words to describe this blessing!
This is the end of Camp Esther posts. (Deep, dramatic voice).
